The Msambweni MP, Sulieman Dori has passed on at the Aga Khan Hospital in Mombasa on Monday morning after months of battling cancer.
The news of the death of MP Dori has been received with disbelief and great grief.
He became the MP for the constituency in Kwale County in 2013 on an ODM party ticket till his unfortunate demise.
Dori 43, also served as the Coast Parliamentary Group Chairman.
The body of the late MP has been moved to his rural home in Ghazi village of Msambweni sub-county for burial later today in line with Islamic tenets.
The Kwale Governor, Salim Mvurya led local leaders in mourning the two-term legislator.
“On my own behalf and that of Kwale people I send my most heartfelt condolences to the family of the bereaved, his relatives, friends and all residents of our great county,” said Mvurya, adding may the merciful God rest his soul in eternal peace.
He described the deceased as a visionary leader who stood for peace, unity, and development of Kwale County.
On his part, the Mombasa Governor, Hassan Joho said Dori’s life will forever remain a lesson of courage and true dedication to community service.
