Pastors fellowship want residents to make informed choices on BBI

The  Narok Pastors Fellowship Association has asked residents of the area to read and understand the content of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report and to contribute positively before the regional forum is held.

Led by their Chairman Bishop Peter Nakola, the pastors said they support the initiative fully as it will help in resolving the historical injustices among the Maa Community that have been a thorn in their flesh for long.

“We want our people to familiarize themselves with the BBI document and give their views to their representatives for inclusion during BBI forum,” said Bishop Nakola.

He  was speaking in Narok Pentecostal Assemblies of God  Church (PAG) on Sunday where over 300 pastors drawn from Narok County met to strategize on the activities of the year.

He lauded the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader, Raila Odinga, saying it brought unity among the Narok residents.

“We have seen unity among Narok residents as this is a cosmopolitan county. We will fully back anything that brings us together,” he said.

The religious leaders also announced they had received goods worth Sh. 160 million from missionaries in the US which they will be distributing during a mega Gospel outreach programme in the month of June this year.

“We have received sanitary materials, foodstuff and clothing from missionaries in the US. We will give the material to vulnerable families, prisons, hospitals and children’s homes during our mega gospel outreach,” he said.

The  Pastors’ association treasurer, John Oleprukoi asked the residents to be sober when reading and giving their recommendations on BBI because it will affect their generations.

But some residents like  Joseph Kamau, a boda boda operator in Narok Town said the document was not available to the common mwananchi as had earlier been promised.

He said the locals ought to understand its content properly so that they can give views to their leaders who will in turn represent them in the BBI forum that is expected to be held in Suswa grounds.
