The Kakamega county government administrators have been instructed to embrace good governance practices for effective service delivery.
The Public Service and Administration Executive, Dr. Beatrice Sabana has asked the administrators to acquaint themselves with the county policies and legislations so that they are able to implement them appropriately.
Dr. Sabana was speaking on Friday during a one-day training workshop for the sub county, ward and community area administrators at the county headquarters.
The officers were taken through the new county legislations including the Kakamega County Community Area Administration Coordination Act 2019 and the Kakamega County Alcoholic Drinks Act 2019.
They were also taught public speaking skills, leadership and managerial skills as well as governance structures.
She said the administrators are the representatives of the county government at the grassroots and therefore they should portray a good image.
“The civil service code of regulations requires you to be politically neutral and to serve without discrimination,” she observed.
The county executive called on the officers to practice good public relations so that the residents can feel free to seek services from them.
