Parents urged to be wary of conmen

The  Rachuonyo  South Deputy County Commissioner (DCC), Ibrahim Hassan has warned parents with students expected to join form one next year to be vigilant on people who may be out to con them.

Hassan said some fraudsters’ were demanding Sh.4000 from unsuspecting parents of students who have been invited to join Agoro sare high school in the area, so as to ‘facilitate issuance of admission number from the school for purposes of being considered for a bursary.’

The  fraudsters  claimed that the money would be credited to the school account through the bursar, added the DCC.

However, through a statement sent to KNA on Tuesday, the School Principal, James Momanyi  said no such money is being received by the school bursar, since form one admission will be on 13 of January, 2020 and that no money is being levied to issue admission numbers.

“This is therefore pure con game and parents and guardians should be made aware so that they are not defrauded,” reiterated the DCC.

Meanwhile, Hassan has called on all residents to exercise caution and asked any parents who may have fallen victims to such con games to immediately to report to the relevant authorities for action.
