Sh.218 million released under Inua Jamii in Turkana county

The  National government has released Sh.218 million under the Inua Jamii programme in Turkana county.

A total of 11,308 Older persons, 15,035 orphans and vulnerable children and 909 people with severe disability will benefit from Sh.218,016,000.

The  Ministry of Labour and Social Protection through State Department for Social Protection commenced payments on  Monday 18th November 2019 through the respective Payment Service Providers (Cooperative Bank, Equity Bank, Kenya Commercial Bank, Postbank).

The  beneficiaries registered under CT-OVC, PWSD-CT and OPCT will receive Payments.

The  County Director of Social Development, James Kiptoon said the payment  will cover two (2) cycles of July-August and September-October 2019.

“Only those beneficiaries whose accounts had successfully been submitted between 26/11/2018 to 15/10/2019 are on the payroll,” Kiptoon said.

The Phase III Migration involves targeting (replacement) and retargeting (for those already in the database but were not issued with tokens in Phase I and Phase II). Phase III is planned in the third quarter 2019/2020.
