The Kenya Power has rolled out a campaign aimed at increasing customer satisfaction and enhancing the Company’s revenue protection initiatives.
The campaign dubbed ‘Know Your Meter’ kicked off on Monday and will run for two months according to KP Managing Director/CEO, Bernard Ngugi.
Ngugi said the campaign will commence in Nairobi County where they target approximately 2 million meters, adding similar campaigns will be rolled out to cover the rest of the country at a later date.
The ‘Know Your Meter’ campaign will entail checking premises to establish whether they are connected to electricity, if there is a meter, and if the meter is properly connected and functional. It will identify and weed out illegal connections as well as resolve customer concerns,” Ngugi explained.
“The campaign is being implemented out of a need to protect one of our most valuable assets- our meters. This campaign is crucial since it is through meters that electricity turns into money for the Company. We are optimistic that this campaign will lead to increased customer satisfaction and translate into improved revenue for the Company,” he added.
The campaign will be implemented by Kenya Power staff drawn from all divisions. Each member of staff will be dressed in branded jacket with visible job identification cards.
“I would like to urge our customers to accord our staff the necessary support to enable them complete this task,” urged Ngugi.
