 Man who shot a KFS Ranger with an Arrow Released on Bond.

A middle aged man who was arraigned before a court for injuring a Kenya Forest Service (KFS) Ranger has been released on a bond Sh.130,000 bond with one surety of similar amount.

Joel Kipyegon alias Cheborgei alias Chuck Norris had appeared before Narok Chief Magistrate Wilbroda  Juma charged  that on  October 4, 2019 at Kipchoge area in Narok South Sub County he unlawfully did grievous harm to KFS Ranger, Victor Mwendwa by shooting him with an arrow on the thigh.

He denied the charges, the court ruled that the pre-bail report favored the accused and therefore released him on a bond Sh.130,000 bond with one surety of similar amount pending the hearing of his case.

The accused had applied that he be released on bond in order to seek medical attention saying he had been tortured and injured during his arrest. He also said he had a family and seven children for whom he is the sole bread winner.

The trial of the case has now been set for November 1, 2019.

The accused is believed to be among armed youth who shot and injured the said Kenya forest service ranger with an arrow in the leg.

The victim and other rangers were patrolling Kipchoge area in Mau forest where there is a pending eviction of illegal settlers when they were attacked by a group of youth who were resisting the evictions.
