Abducted woman rescued

Police in Molo have rescued a woman who was abducted on Sunday evening from her home in Treasure estate, Molo sub-county.

The  Molo  Sucb County  Police Commander, Isaac Odumbe confirmed the incident, saying that they managed to rescue Veronica Njoki by following crucial leads from members of the public.

The unknown thugs are said to have gotten access through the ceiling of her house and used her mobile phone to demand for a ransom of Sh. 50,000 from her contacts.

According to Odumbe, the rescue effort with residents’ help took them three hours whereby they managed to locate her at a farm within the same location.

At  the moment, Njoki is recuperating at Molo sub-county hospital.

Police have launched a manhunt for the thugs and have urged residents to volunteer information that could help them apprehend the criminals.

Additionally, residents were advised to be vigilant and always report suspicious people to police to help curb crime in the area.
