A two-year-old boy from Buchege village in Kuresoi North is nursing injuries on his right ear after his step father allegedly chopped it off for no apparent reason.
According to neighbours, the two-year-old has always been subjected to torture from the step father for the last three months until the latest incident.
They further disclosed that the boy had been forced to sleep outside their home on several occasions.
The area assistant chief Richard Towett confirmed the incident saying the incident was quite unfortunate and urged parents to always endeavour to protect their children against abuse and facilitate a conducive environment for them to grow into responsible persons.
Among the area residents was Cynthia Kiplang’at who said that the step father committed the molestation while the boy’s mother was away on the farm.
The boy who was bleeding profusely rushed to the farm while crying and immediately the mother raised an alarm prompting the man to disappear but he was later arrested and taken to Kuresoi police station where he awaits to be arraigned in a Molo court Monday.
Angry women in the area said they will not tolerate individuals threatening the lives of children and as such they will be exposed to face the law.
Towett urged the irate residents to remain calm as the law takes its cause.
He urged parents to always be extra vigilant with those they leave behind with their children.
