An East African region Pentecostal church overseer has added voice to those calling for an end to the stalemate on funding to the counties.
The Overseer of New life Pentecostal church in East Africa Arch Bishop Dr. Dan Migosi appealed to the governors to accept what is available saying there was no need to overburden the government and frustrate citizens in the process by demanding for more.
Speaking in Kimera New Life church in Manga sub county, Nyamira County, during the ordination of Bishop Samwel Onsongo, Dr. Migosi castigated the governors for allegedly failing to utilize their allocations for purposes of development.
“Adding more allocation to the county governments is like adding more load to an already tired donkey,” posed Dr. Misoi.
On the ongoing Census, Dr. Misoi called upon pastors to enlighten the faithful in their churches to cooperate with the government in the ongoing exercise saying it was biblical and Godly.
He noted that Christians needed to adhere to government’s call to avoid night vigils during the enumeration exercise to avoid being left out in the tally and subsequently missing out in resource allocation.
“Census did not start recently, it is biblical and Jesus undertook the tally at some time during his time on earth,” said Dr. Misoi.
He castigated pastors who allegedly exploited the flock by concentrating on preaching about planting of seed to enrich themselves at the expense of tenets of the bible.
Newly ordained Bishop Onsongo decried perpetual fights among the clergy today and called for unity in serving the church as unto God who had called them into one baptism and one anointing.
Onsongo urged Christians to help the needy including the disabled and the youth who need mentorship on dealing with challenges facing them including drugs of addiction among other stressors in life.
