Over 6000 learners to benefit from NG-CDF bursaries in Kanduyi

Over 6,000 learners from Kanduyi constituency, Bungoma County are set to benefit from

Sh52.4 million in bursaries from the National Government-Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).

Kanduyi Member of Parliament, John Makali said that 850 students from each of the eight wards in the constituency will benefit from the fund, 500 of them being day secondary school students.

The 500-day scholars will each get Sh5000, while 100 boarders will receive Sh8000 each. Some 250 students from various colleges including Technical Vocational Training (TVETS) will each get Sh10,000 each.

Mr. Makali made the announcement at St. Peters Sang’alo Secondary School during the launch of the bursary program.

He advised parents not to rely fully on bursaries from the government but to also engage in income-generating activities to enable them to meet their children’s educational expenses without constraints.

The MP also asked students to be disciplined and to study hard in order to perform well and better their future.
