Foundation holds mentorship day for learners under their sponsorship

A foundation that sponsors vulnerable students in Meru County held a mentorship programme for their learners with a view of evaluation of their progress as well as addressing challenges facing them in the cause of their studies.

Speaking during the event held in North Imenti, Meru County, Kamashinani Foundation’s Director Kathuri Murungi who doubles up as the County Senator as well as the Senate Deputy Speaker said he was pleased to embark on a journey of growth, learning, and empowering at least 180 students through this mentorship program.

He said the initiative was targeting to create great future leaders, innovators, and changemakers not only in the county but Kenya and the world at large.

“I want to acknowledge the hard work and determination that have brought each one of you to this point. You have already shown remarkable commitment to your education and personal development, and we are here today to help you take the next step in your journey,” said Mr Murungi.

At Kamashinani Foundation, he added, we believe in the transformative power of education, and our mission is not just to provide financial support for your studies but to equip you with the skills, mindset, and opportunities to succeed in all aspects of life.

“This mentorship program is a vital part of that mission. We understand that the road ahead may not always be easy, but with the right guidance and support, you can overcome any challenge that comes your way,” said Mr. Murungi.

He urged them to remember that success is not defined by how quickly one achieves his goals but by the perseverance, resilience, and integrity with which he pursues them.

“Set your sights high, dream big, and work diligently. The Kamashinani Foundation will always be here to support you in your endeavors, but the effort you put in will matter a lot in shaping your future,” said Mr. Murungi.

Meru County Deputy Governor Isaac Mutuma, who also attended the event, thanked the senator and the foundation, adding that their contribution will be felt in years to come.

“This foundation is doing a great job of ensuring girls and boys who would not have afforded to go to secondary school have an opportunity to shape their lives. This will go a long in uplifting the standards of our county in terms of economy as well as other aspects of life,” said Mr. Mutuma.
