A panel constituted to recruit the Secretary and Members of the Turkana County Public Service Board on Sunday handed over the report on the recruitment exercise to Governor Josphat Nanok.
In a meeting held at the Turkana County Liaison Office at Delta Towers in Nairobi, the Governor received the report which recommends names of candidates for consideration for nomination into the office of the Secretary and Members of the Turkana County Public Service Board (TCPSB).
The positions fell vacant following the expiry of the tenure of the current Secretary and Members of the Board.
Three names for consideration for nomination to the office of the Secretary who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Board were handed to the Governor.
Also recommended by the Panel for nomination are twenty-two names of candidates to be considered to fill five positions of Board Members.
The submission of the report was a culmination of a four-week exercise that involved shortlisting of candidates for interview, interviewing and finally recommending names of candidates for consideration for nomination and appointment by the Governor.
Governor Nanok is expected as per the law, to nominate and submit to the Turkana County Assembly for the latter’s approval, one name for the position of the Secretary and five names for the position of Board Members.
Present during the meeting were the Panel members comprising of Chairman Mark Ekuam, Leonard Miinyan who is the Secretary, Jennifer Tioko, Jane Apetet, Yusuf Ali Aremons and Norbert Okumu.
Other Panel members present were Bishop Francis Erupe and Rev. Samson Akoru.
Also present during the report handing over ceremony were the County Secretary Peter Eripete and County Chief Officer for Public Service Gladys Arika.
