United Progressive Alliance (UPA) party leader Governor Amos Nyaribo has confirmed that they will nominate a presidential candidate in the 2027 general elections.
Nyaribo while attending the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Nyamira town on Tuesday confirmed that the UPA political party has gained national traction and is ripe enough to nominate a presidential candidate in the 2027 general elections.
“Our party has over time since its launch gained popularity beyond the Gusii region and received support and interest of membership from most parts of this country including those in the diaspora. We are thereby crafting strategies on how we shall expand and grow our party’s membership so that we showcase the party’s national outlook.” Nyaribo stated.
“We are projecting to open 26 new party offices countrywide and further expand the leadership circle by giving top party leadership posts to our delegates drawn from all parts of this country. I therefore want to assure our people that the UPA party is the place to belong and should therefore register in big numbers to lead the way once we launch the membership registration early next year.” UPA leader appealed.
UPA chairman, Nyambega Gisesa divulged that UPA will nominate a presidential candidate with a proven impressive performance track record in his past assignments in our country and beyond.
“Our proposed nominee, Dr. Fred Okengo Matiang’i, is a strong candidate, a performer and we have confidence in him and assured that his vast experience in leadership and governance will save our country from its current worrying and deplorable economic state.”
Gisesa hinted that they have started their groundwork of consolidating leaders of various political parties countrywide to have a formidable political force which will bring victory to our candidate.
Mr. Jacob Bagaka, the Secretary General of UPA and Deputy speaker in Kisii County assembly called upon the Omogusii community including those living in the diaspora to drum up support for their grand dream because UPA is visionary assuring it has the aspirations of Kenyans at heart
“Machinations by ‘big’ parties to suppress ‘young and small’ political parties to kill their vision and ambition is rampant in Kenya but we are determined and our party will not be intimidated or be subsumed by the ‘big’ parties. We are the party to watch in 2027,” Secretary General Bagaka affirmed.
UPA political party was officially unveiled in 2021 and closely associated with leaders from the Gusii community with a slogan is ‘Kazi ya Haki’.
