Nyamira County commissioner Erastus Mbui has assured residents of maximum security during the festive season, ensuring they can enjoy the season without fear.
While talking to press, Commissioner Mbui mentioned that Christmas is a time for families, communities, friends, and Christians to celebrate the birth of Christ, hence ensuring a safe and secure environment.
“I am obligated to uphold law and order in the county, ensuring all security personnel are adequately coordinated and refraining from any unlawful criminal activities during the festive season.” Mbui explained.
The Commissioner has issued a warning to criminal gangs planning to disrupt December holidays’ festivities, stating that they will not be spared if reported or executed, warning that no one will be allowed to disrupt, threaten, or practice unlawful plans for criminal deals to innocent residents thinking that the law will not deal with such people.
“Be warned that we are on high alert to spot any criminal activity or even intention of doing it to intercept it as early as possible. Such gangs will not be spared, we shall ensure they are dealt with squarely with the law,” he stated
The speaker advised against overindulgence and excessive alcohol consumption, as it can lead to illegal activities and also warned drivers to avoid driving under the influence, as it is illegal. Lastly, he wished everyone a peaceful Christmas and prosperous 2025.
