Over 300 households in Khwisero Sub County will benefit from a free medical camp organised by area Member of Parliament (MP) Christopher Aseka.
Aseka said the medical camps will be organised in all the sub-locations in the region to reach more residents.
He said treatment will be crucial in bridging healthcare gaps by promoting preventive care and empowering communities, noting the move will make positive differences in the lives of the community.
The hundreds who benefitted from free health care were excited and appreciated the team for the services received.
The MP also urged the residents to register for SHA during the medical camp alongside the treatment.
“You only need an identification card number and birth certificate for children to register for SHA,” he said.
Aseka said more than twenty schools have been identified for the exercise in all the sub-counties.
Some of the schools include Eshibinga, Elukanji, Emalindi, Mundaha, Emuruba, Shirali, Doho, Shiongo, Ibinda and Namasoli, among others.
He added that the exercise will be done in collaboration with Aseka Miradi Care and has been organised with the help of the health management team in the area.
“I have convened a strategic meeting with the Khwisero sub-county health management team and officers in charge of all health facilities within the sub-county for a successful event,” he said.
Through the programme, he said, the residents will access essential medical services and facilitate their enrolment into the SHA scheme, thus advancing the government’s goal of achieving universal health coverage.
The MP who spoke over the weekend during the start of the initiative said the programme will run till 24th December, ensuring that more community members are reached and supported.
