Bungoma residents asked to register with SHA to access services

Bungoma County Commissioner Thomas Sankei urged residents in Bungoma to register with the Social Health Authority (SHA)for them to continue receiving health cover services in hospitals.

Sankei was speaking at Mayuba stadium, Sirisia in Bungoma West during celebrations to mark Mashujaa day.

The CC asked the residents to be aware that one Mpox case had been diagnosed in the area and asked them to follow instructions from health personnel to avoid being infected.

In matters security, he said that cases of motorcycle and cattle theft were rampant in the area and asked them to desist from the vice to improve on the security of the County as a whole.

He commended the leaders for working as a team and said that the cooperation between his office and the county government had made service delivery to the residents to excel.

This was the first time for the County celebration to be held in Sirisia and residents turned up in large numbers for the event.

Deputy Governor Jennifer Mbatiany said the County government was making efforts to complete projects that had stalled.

Mbatiany who read the Governor’s speech said that roads had been identified for development in each ward and that the works would start immediately contractors are identified.

Sirisia Member of Parliament Rtd Major John Waluke also graced the event.
