Five legislators from Siaya on Saturday urged Kenyans to ignore the Third Way Alliance’s push for a constitutional referendum, terming it cosmetic.
Legislators James Orengo, Otiende Amollo, Samuel Atandi, Christine Ombaka and Opiyo Wandayi said the decision by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to give a nod to the push by the Third Way Alliance was questionable, given that an earlier attempt by the Orange democratic Movement had been thrown away by the same body.
Speaking at different funerals in Siaya County, the law makers urged Kenyans to wait for the Building Bridges Initiative report that they claimed will come up with a comprehensive document that carries the will of the Kenyans.
They called on the county assemblies to shoot down Ekuru Aukot led initiative as it did not capture the wishes of Kenyans.
