The outgoing Nandi County Commissioner (CC), Samuel Kimiti on Friday handed over the office to the incoming CC, Olaka Kutswa from Mandera County.
Speaking during the handing over ceremony held at the Commissioner’s Boardroom and attended by National government heads of departments, Kimiti said he appreciated the support he received from the heads.
“I want to register my gratitude for the support you accorded me during my short stint at the county,” said Kimiti.
Kimiti urged the departmental heads to extend the same support to the incoming County Commissioner in offering services to the public.
He pointed some of his successes to include restoring peace at the border of Nandi and other neighbouring counties of Kisumu and Vihiga over cattle rustling.
“I also managed to contain the issue of street children menace at Kapsabet town and its environs,” added Kimiti.
In his maiden speech, Kutswa urged the heads to extend the good working relationship they had with the outgoing CC.
He further urged them to work as a team, observe work ethics and be effective and efficient in service delivery.
Kutswa said he would prioritize the issue of cattle rustling that has been the cause of conflicts in the towns bordering Nandi.
