The Muhoroni – Mamboleo road in Kisumu County will be improved to bitumen standards to improve communication within the area.
The Muhoroni MP, James Onyango said this will enable residents who engage in business to have easier access to old and new markets, thus improving on their livelihoods.
“We want to open up this area to the outside counties,” he said, adding that the road will also ease transportation of sugar canes by farmers to the nearby factories.
“The money for the project has already been earmarked, we want to improve the road to contemporary standards for the benefit of our people,” said the MP.
Speaking to KNA on Monday, while touring a number of projects in his constituency, Onyango disclosed the road will be commissioned by President Uhuru Kenyatta before August this year.
