Seven students who had been charged with arson in Makueni County will know their fate on July 11.
The accused persons who appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate (SPM), James Mwaniki were on Thursday denied a bond and instead remanded at the Makueni GK prison to await the judgement.
The accused, Clinton Seke, Josephat Muia, Kyalo Mulonzi, Kelvin Maingi, Timothy Kinama and Masoud Mohammed are students at Kitonyini Mixed Secondary School where they set ablaze a dormitory on 28th July 2016 in Muvao location Makueni Sub-county.
However, the seven accused have denied the charges saying they were woken up at 4.30 am, went for morning preps and they did not know what ignited the fire at 5.45am.
The court has however, established that the seven had contributed different amounts of money that was used to purchase fuel to perform the vice.
The 5th accused, Kyalo Mulonzi, was said to have kept the money which he used to buy the fuel since he was a day scholar.
