Kakamega County Government has confirmed that the fertiliser distributed to farmers through the subsidy programme is working perfectly.
The County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture Godfrey Owori said farmers who used the fertiliser have testified that their crops are healthy.
Speaking at Bukura Agricultural Training College during the unveiling of Sistema Bio-digester in Western Kenya the CECM told the farmers to be ready for top dressing fertiliser.
He said for maximum crop yields, farmers are supposed to follow keenly the advice of agricultural experts on time of application of the fertiliser and the required quantity.
He said agricultural officers are on standby to offer guidance to farmers across the county to ensure that their crops produce maximum yields.
The CECM also urged farmers to join cooperative societies to benefit from financial support from the collaboration between the county government and financial institutions such as the Kenya Commercial Bank(KCB).
“Financial institutions are ready to assist you on how to market your products and how to get inputs at a lower cost,” he pointed out.
