Over 3, 000 children who are affected by HIV/AIDS receive the Anti Retroviral drugs that reduce the viral power once month at Malindi Sub County hospital
The children are given drugs to curb mother to child infection or protect them from being affected by the virus.
Speaking to the press in his office Monday, Dr. Taher Nuroodin said over 70 children were being brought to his office every day for the treatment and a follow up on the affected children for medication is done.
He also said that 99 per cent of the children were protected from getting the virus, adding that Malindi Sub County hospital has enough stock of the drugs for two months.
Dr. Nuroodin also said over 25 hospitals in Malindi Sub County were getting a supply of ARVs from the Sub County hospital.
He further said the hospital provides food for school children affected by the virus at their schools and also those at the rehabilitation centres.
