Congolese superstar Ya Levis set to perform in Nairobi

Iconic Star Ya Levis Dalwear from the Republic of Congo is set to perform in Kenya during the RAHA Fest 2024 edition scheduled for March 30th to 31st this year at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi.

Ya Levis, a Congolese vocalist, songwriter, and choreographer famous for his Ndombolo and African Rhumba ballads, will perform from Saturday, March 30th, to Sunday, March 31st, at 4 p.m.

Some of his chart topping hits include Mokolo ya l’amour, Libala, Kachua, Mbang’u Te and Nakati.

In a press statement sent to newsrooms, a representative from RAHA Fest, Emily Bisase, said YA Levis music embodies the spirit of celebration and unity that RAHA Fest stands for and expressed confidence that his performance will be a highlight of the festival, will captivate the audience and showcase the richness of African music.

Bisase announced that Ya Levis will share the stage with a diverse group of artists from all over the continent, including Nigerian sensation Davido, Ghanian star King Promise, South African keyboard virtuoso Musa Keys, a Kenyan music group known as Hart The Band, and rising star Nadia Mukami.

Others are the soulful Kenyan R&B singer Nviiri the Storyteller, rap queen Femi One, Kenyan star Otile Brown, and legendary Congolese artist JB Mpiana.

“I am thrilled to come to Kenya for the first time, and I’m honoured to be performing at the biggest festival in Africa. Kenya holds a special place in my heart, and I have always been inspired by its vibrant culture and social life,” said Ya Levis.

He added, “I can’t wait to come and have an amazing time with everyone. I am looking forward to joining the star-studded line-up.”

The festival organisers called upon members of the public who are interested in attending the event to purchase tickets from www.rahafest.com, of which the VVIP tickets will go for Sh. 30,000, the weekend pass for Sh12, 000, while the regular tickets will be Sh.6, 000.

The event has been sponsored by Martell, Belair, Zuri Health, Nairobi County, and the Radio Africa Group.
