Uasin Gishu County Service Centre established

The County Government of Uasin Gishu is calling on the business community to visit the recently established Uasin Gishu County Service Centre to obtain any permits needed.

The well-designed centre has the capacity to serve at least 16 clients at the same time, minimising on-time losses that used to be experienced before its establishment.

According to Director for Licensing and Compliance, David Kebenei, a single billing officer at the centre, can serve approximately 40 clients per day, lauding the rate at which they are streaming for the services.

The licensing application and renewal deadline is April 30, 2024.

“We are working to develop a unified Single Business Permit (SBP), which will incorporate all other permits such as fire, and public health, among other streams,” said Kebenei.

He further adds that they are also issuing liquor licenses whose approvals were made last year, noting that the County government has not begun any forms of compliance, and anyone visiting business premises, claiming to be doing compliance should not be tolerated.

On matters relating to the data collected from business mapping, Kebenei said that large businesses housing other small businesses and operating without a license must obtain a license for them to operate.

“Measures have also been put in place by the County government, to ensure loopholes are sealed,” he added.
