Barchok said the experts will train with their counterparts in the National Hospital and are expected to import the skills learnt to Longisa Hospital’s cancer section in which several Cancer patients are receiving treatment.

He was speaking at Kapchepkosiom area of Kipsonoi Ward, Sotik Sub County, during the burial of John Kirui, brother to County Executive for Lands, Housing and Urban Planning Joseph Kirui, who succumbed to cancer.

Barchok said the scourge was worsening adding besides claiming lives, it drains the affected families of finances due to high hospital bills.

He said his administration was keen on ensuring that it availed medication and personnel to ensure proper management of cancer patients adding more resources and efforts would be directed towards the cause.

The county boss urged the public to go for free cancer screening at Longisa terming the exercise as the first step towards treatment of the terminal disease.
