Imenti North Sub County is ready for the upcoming nationwide population census slated for August 2019.
Speaking in his Office on Tuesday, the Deputy County Commissioner (DCC), Isaac Masinde noted that a census committee has already been constituted with membership from different groups among them churches and civil society organizations.
Masinde said the committee will be mandated to oversee the success of the process by conducting recruitment of various census officials, stipulated in the enumeration exercise positions.
He has urged those willing to participate as census staff to continue sending their applications at the various offices as provided for in the advertisement whose deadline is scheduled on June 24, 2019.
Those to be hired include enumerators, content Supervisors and ICT managers whose applications should be handed to the assistant chiefs, chiefs and county statistics officer’s offices respectively.
Masinde who is the Chairperson of the committee said after recruiting the said staff,they will be trained on what is expected of them, adding that this time round the exercise will be paperless as it will all be digital.
The DCC urged members of the public to cooperate with the census officers during the entire duration of the exercise, adding that the members of public will be expected to answer some pertinent questions.
He said that the census officers might also need to see Identification documents of members of the public during the census time.
