Mandera County receives pharmaceutical worth Sh200 million

Mandera County government has received 180 tonnes of essential drugs with a total value of Sh200 million from the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA).

The consignment, comprising various essential drugs, was delivered to the county government as part of a medical supplies’ consignment.

Additionally, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Kenya Red Cross made a donation of drugs and other medical items valued at Sh78 million.

Mohamed Ali, the County Executive Committee (CEC) for Health in Mandera, Sunday officially announced the delivery of the medical supplies.

He said, “Mandera County remains committed to prioritizing the health and well-being of its residents through the efficient distribution of essential medical resources.”

Expressing gratitude, the CEC lauded all stakeholders involved and emphasized the county’s commitment to ensuring continuous and uninterrupted healthcare services for the community.

Mr. Ali said, “Priority in the distribution of drugs will be given to the remotest health facilities in Banisa, Mandera North, Mandera South, Mandera East, and Kutulo sub-counties.”.

The county’s Health Boss also issued a warning against fraudulent activities and urged hospital administrators to exercise caution and use the drugs for their intended purposes.

The delivered supplies are designated for distribution to 102 health facilities across Mandera County.
