Tharaka Nithi County Commissioner, Mrs. Muzne Abdulatiff and Governor Muthomi Njuki, have ordered Intex Construction Company to vacate from Kibumbu Primary school’s playground, where they have constructed their site offices.

Speaking to reporters at Kiang’ondu Primary School in Chuka Igambang’ombe constituency on Thursday, Mrs Abdulatiff said the contractor should ensure that the land is restored to its original condition.

“If they have completed the assigned work, they should vacate immediately and ensure that the land is in good condition,” said Mrs. Abdulatiff.

The Governor said should the contractor fail to do so, he should not be paid the outstanding money, noting that the delay in vacating the land had denied pupils of the school their right of taking part in sporting activities.

“The field is full of ballast, grease and stones and not in good condition for the pupils to play in,” said Njuki.

The governor said the contractor should clear and level the land and plant grass on it for easier use by the pupils.

He noted that the Chuka-Forest and Mungoni-Chuka University roads which the contractor has worked on are already full of potholes and should be redone afresh.

“We will write a letter demanding that he (contractor) do the roads afresh since they are not up to the required standards,” he added.
