Governor donates Sh. 1 million and foodstuff to schools damaged by the ongoing heavy rains

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka on Friday comforted Butonge High School and Sirisia Constituency fraternity following damaged buildings due to the heavy rainfall pounding the area.

Lusaka gave a personal donation of Sh. 1 million to kick start repairs of damaged roofs, and furniture and for the school administration to buy foodstuff for students.

“It is quite unfortunate that such calamity befell this institution. I hope this donation will help in regaining normalcy,” he said.

The Governor further assured residents of the County’s preparedness for the predicted El Nino rains by the weatherman.

Lusaka also urged residents living along the slopes of Mt. Elgon to be on high alert as the area was prone to landslides.

He was accompanied by area MP, John Waluke.
