Sh8.5 million multi-purpose facility for Embakasi Girls

ISUZU East Africa, together with Nairobi Woman Representative Ms. Esther Passaris, has commissioned a Sh 8.5 multi-purpose facility at Embakasi Girls Secondary School in Nairobi that will house different activities for the students.

The facility will be able to accommodate the 900 students who had the challenge of accessing a dining hall during meals and also a place to carry out other extracurricular activities in the school.

Speaking during the occasion, Passaris expressed gratitude to ISUZU for coming up with a project that will have an impact on the students and called upon the school’s leadership to reciprocate the positive contribution.

Managing Director ISUZU East Africa Ms Rita Kavashe making her remarks during the commissioning of the Multi-Purpose Facility at Embakasi Girls Secondary School on Friday October 6, 2023.

“In order to justify the kind gesture of Isuzu EA, I wish to appeal to the school principal, staff, and students to ensure the judicious use and adequate maintenance of this new facility,” said Passaris.

She further observed that the commissioning of the Multipurpose Hall also reflected Isuzu EA’s commitment to education and the girl child’s well-being.

Speaking at the same event, ISUZU East Africa Managing Director, Ms. Rita Kavashe, noted that the infrastructural development would provide a conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.

“The school administration reached out to Isuzu EA to support the construction of a physical facility to serve as a school multi-purpose hall. Additionally, Isuzu seeks to prioritise education through sponsorships for needy, bright, and talented students. We believe that education is the only equaliser in society,” stated Kavashe.

Making her remarks, the school’s Principal, Ms. Grace Kamar, said that the new facility will transform the lives of students by helping them further their skills and improve the school’s performance.

“This hall will serve us in so many ways. We currently do not have a dining area for the girls to have their meals; thus, this hall will be very useful in that way. Most of our girls are pursuing home science as their technical subject,” she voiced.

“Isuzu EA has been walking with us for several years now. We are grateful for their support. This gesture will indeed impact many lives within the community,” added Kamar.

ISUZU has launched their foundation, (The ISUZU Foundation), which is aimed at improving the living conditions of people in society, and has welcomed any investor who is willing to work with them on these programmes.
