An Administration Police Officer was on Monday arraigned before the High Court in Embu to face murder charges murder of a boda boda rider in Embu two weeks ago.
Clinton Gitonga who was appearing before Judge Lucy Njuguna was accused of murdering 27- year-old Justin Muceri alongside others not before the court on the night of September 5 and 6 within Gatondo Village in Embu West Sub-County.
The body of the deceased was found dumped on the roadside the following day with several knife stab wounds.
The accused denied the charges and was released on a cash bail Sh. 300, 000 and the case will come up for mention on October 18.
Among evidential materials the prosecution will be relying on is CCTV footage obtained from one of the entertainment joints where the victim was last seen alive.
Meanwhile, in the same court, two brothers were charged with murder of their mother’s alleged boyfriend.
The two, David Kinyua and Kelvin Macharia were accused of killing Peter Mwangi on the night of September 3 in Mariari Sub-location in Mbeere South Sub-County.
They denied charges and were released on a cash bail of Sh. 300, 000 each.
The case will be mentioned on September 16.
