Siabei Residents Benefit from Borehole Project from ENSDA

The residents of Sibei, Narok North Sub-County have benefited from a borehole project from the Ewaso Nyiro South Development Authority (ENSDA).

The project was funded by ENSDA and will benefit over 500 households living around the area that have been forced to source unsafe water from Siabei river.

The borehole project was drilled at Olkeri Model Boarding Primary School and was installed with solar panels.

During her tour to Narok County, the Cabinet Secretary (CS) in charge of The Ministry of East Africa Community, Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALS) and Regional Development, Rebecca Miano launched the borehole project.

The CS was accompanied by the area Member of Parliament, Agnes Pareyio, Dr. Idris Salim Dokota Permanent Secretary for the State Department for the ASALs and regional department, and Narok county commissioner Isaac Masinde.

Pareyio asked both the school management and the local community to properly manage the project so as to benefit everybody.

The MP reiterated that the water will quench the thirst of households living in Siabei and the surrounding areas.

Managing Director ENSDA, Ngala Oloitiptip said the water project will boost water coverage in the county as well as benefit the communities.

Oloitiptip noted that ENSDA plays a major role for the public and its core mandate is to deliver developments to the people at grassroots levels.

Isaac Dapash, area Member of the County Assembly said access to clean, safe, and affordable water will greatly boost the community living in the area.
