Moi Girls High School students on Wednesday staged a sit in and boycotted classes demanding the removal of the school principal Christine Chumba.
The students who held demonstration within the school and later camped at the school gate accused the principal of harassment and mistreatment of teachers.
The placard-waving students further accused the principal of ignoring them as well as claiming that corruption and mismanagement was rampant at the learning institution.
The students accused the school administration of indiscriminate felling of trees destroying the schools learning environment. They further accused the Principal of subjecting them to canning saying it is illegal.
Riot police and senior education officials are closely monitoring the situation and by the time of compiling this report the principal was in a closed door meeting with senior education officials.
The students have however not destroyed any school property.
