4300 learners begin KPSEA and KJSEA exams in Kisii Central

A total of 4,300 candidates are sitting for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) examinations in Kisii Central Sub-County.

Speaking to the press after opening the exam container at the County Commissioner’s offices in Kisii town, Kisii Central Deputy County Commissioner Joseph Mwangi said they had dispatched the exam papers to 78 public primary schools and 14 private schools in the sub-county.

Mwangi noted they were also issuing exams for KCSE practicals and thereafter, proceeding to monitor the progress of the exercise in schools to ensure the integrity of the national exams is maintained.

The DCC urged the center managers to be vigilant and ensure the teachers’ phones are kept far away from the exam rooms.

He further cautioned the teachers against exam malpractice saying the omission of police surveillance in this year’s exams should not be an excuse for them to compromise the credibility of the exams.
