Machakos County in collaboration with the Israeli Government has donated eyeglasses to some 188 students from Machakos which will to enable them improve in their studies.
Machakos County Executive for Health Dr. Daniel Yumbya who was speaking at the Machakos Level 5 hospital said that the donation came after a follow-up by eye specialists from Israel who visited and conducted eye checks up on the students.
Dr. Yumbya said the 188 spectacles cost Sh. 1.2 million and they were received by students from Ngiini Secondary, Katoloni Secondary, Muumandu Secondary, and Mithiini Primary schools
The Minister thanked the Governor and the Israeli embassy noting that the donation was a big boost to their performance since their parents could afford to buy them the eyeglasses and will also help the students improve in their studies.
“I thank the Governor for facilitating the visit by donors and Doctors from Israel through the Kenyan Embassy in Israel and their cooperation in helping these children with eyeglasses,” said the health Minister.
The beneficiaries also expressed their gratitude to Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti and promised to perform better than before in their studies.
