A 15- year old girl has been rescued by the police from the hands of a defiler at Midoina in Bamba division, Ganze Sub County in Kilifi County.
30- year old Kahindi Katana was arrested at the weekend following a tip off from members of the public who had spotted the girl getting into the house of the suspect on Saturday evening. He will be arraigned in a Kilifi court this week.
The Bamba OCS, Titus Mwaya said the suspect was arrested along with two relatives of the minor who are suspected to have planned the incident beforehand.
He said Kahindi is said to be a charcoal vendor in the area and well known by the victim’s aunt and sister in-law who are also in police custody.
The Ganze SCPC, Patrick Ngeiywa who confirmed the incident urged members of the public to be promptly reporting such cases to the police so that prompt action can be taken.
He said the incident is among many others in the area that happen but go unreported revealing that it becomes difficult for the police to catch up with the culprits in the remote parts when they collude with local village elders and administrators to conceal the evil acts.
