High turnout for enumeration in Homa bay

With one day to the culmination of the ongoing Population and Housing Census exercise, Homa Bay County has so far recorded a high turnout.
Speaking Thursday at Sophia estate within Homa Bay Sub County,  Principal Secretary for Youths, Gender and Public Service, Dr. Francis Owino revealed that Homa Bay County has recorded about 95 per cent coverage in the ongoing Enumeration exercise.
Dr. Owino who was monitoring the census exercise in the County applauded the stakeholders for the enormous task they have done in ensuring that people are counted, while he appraised the public for the cooperation they have accorded the census officials.
The PS further challenged the enumerators to ensure they reach every household so as to achieve 100 per cent target as a County.
He called on the enumerators who have already achieved their targets to help their remaining colleagues in the spirit of collective responsibilities.
Elsewhere, Homa Bay County Governor Cyprian Awiti has urged the residents to make sure all of them are enumerated within the remaining time.
Awiti, speaking during the Commissioning of the County Municipality Board Members at his Office, stressed that the resources being allocated to the County is directly dependent on the population.
The Governor appealed to the residents who have been enumerated to help identify those who have not been captured, since the figures obtained will help them plan projects for the county.
