Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr witnessed the swearing-in ceremony of 10 chief officers (CO) in a ceremony held at his Wote Office.
The county assembly approved the nominations of the 10 officers after a vetting exercise and they will work in their respective departments in transforming the county.
Among the new chief officers are Dr. Stephen Ndolo Kioo who will be in charge of Health Services, Alfonce Kanunga (Information, Communication and Technology), Jackson Charo (Lands, Urban Planning and Development), Daniel Ndolo (Agriculture and Irrigation) and David Makau (Water and Sanitation).
They also include Dr. Josslyn Mutua (Trade, Marketing, Industry, Culture and Tourism), James Muli (Infrastructure, Transport and Public Works), Boniface Mutua (Social Economic Planning, Budget & Revenue) Nicolas Mutua (Education and Internship) and Japhet Kiminza (Environment, Natural resources and Climate Change)
Speaking at the event, Mutula said the new team is expected to work immediately in delivering services to the people.
“Let’s get this work moving and rolling, I expect this afternoon you will take over to the office as quickly as possible, then tomorrow you will be inducted and start the work immediately, “said Mutula.
Mutula appealed to them to collaborate with their respective national government officials in delivering their services. He urged the chief officers to uphold the oath of office by being accountable and exercise transparency while discharging their duties.
